๐Ÿฆœ Lesson 2 of 4 ยท 3D game

Story Parrot

๐Ÿ•’ About 15 minutes ๐Ÿง  Big idea: think like a next-word guesser ๐ŸŽฎ 10 rounds, 100 points max

Polly the parrot has read EVERY story book on the island. Now she is finishing sentences on the beach. Three words stand on signs. Only one is the MOST likely. Pick it and score big! Silly picks make Polly laugh, but they pay almost nothing. ๐Ÿฆœ

๐ŸŽฎ The game

How to play
  1. Read the parrot's unfinished sentence under the game.
  2. Three voxel signs show three possible next words. Tap a sign in the 3D world (or use the buttons below it).
  3. After you pick, the parrot's story book counts are revealed. Picking the most likely word scores 10 points, the second best scores a few, and silly words score almost nothing.
  4. 10 rounds. Can you hit 90+ and think like a real language model?

๐Ÿ’ก Genius tip

Ask yourself: "which word usually comes here in stories?" Pick that one! That is exactly how ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini work. It is called next-word prediction, and you are doing it!

Check your understanding

The parrot's counts for "brush your ___" are: teeth 9, hair 1, mango 0. An AI picks "mango". What happened?

Tap the answer you think is right.

The AI made a wild, unlikely guess, which is how silly AI mistakes happen. With counts of 9, 1, and 0, "mango" is basically impossible. When an AI picks a super unlikely word, the sentence comes out weird or wrong. That is why AI sometimes says strange things!
