Mini Game What Comes Next? ๐Ÿงฉ

If you can see the pattern, you can make a smart guess, just like AI!

How to play
  1. Say each pattern out loud. (Really! It helps you hear what repeats.)
  2. Tap the answer you think comes next.
  3. Green means you got it! Red means look at the pattern one more time.
  4. Solve all 3 patterns to become a Pattern Champion!

Watch & Play The Rain Guesser ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Move the slider to make it rain a little or A LOT. Watch the water rise next to the little house. Your job: guess when it becomes a flood BEFORE it happens. That guess is called a prediction, and flood AI makes it to keep people safe.

How to play
  1. Start with the rain slider all the way down. The house is safe and dry.
  2. Slide the rain up a LITTLE bit at a time. Watch the clouds get darker and the water creep up.
  3. BEFORE the water reaches the house, try to guess: how much more rain until a flood?
  4. Keep sliding and see if your guess was right!
Slide the rain up slowly and watch the water.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Parent Learn-Along ยท Week 3

The one idea this week: prediction means using past patterns to guess what happens next. The rain slider shows the cause-and-effect chain a real flood model learns: more rain, higher water, flood warning. When grown-up models do this with months of data, it is called time series forecasting; it is how weather services and tourism boards plan ahead.

  • Dinner-table question: "The sky is dark grey and the wind pick up. What is your prediction?" Then ask what clues they used. Clues are what AI people call "data."
  • Try together: before opening a weather app, each of you predicts tomorrow's weather. Check the next day. Whoever is closer wins bragging rights, and your child has just measured "prediction error."
  • In class this week: AI and the arts on Monday, an AI Scavenger Hunt on Wednesday, and making predictions with data on Friday.

๐Ÿ  Week 3 Home Missions

1. Weather guesser (Tuesday to Thursday). โ›… Every evening, guess tomorrow's weather: sunny, cloudy, or rainy. Write it down. Next day, check! How many did you get right?

2. Pattern hunter (weekend). ๐Ÿ‘€ Find 3 patterns around you: tiles on the floor, beats in a song, stripes on a lizard. Point them out to a grown-up.

3. Flood game rematch. ๐ŸŒŠ One more round of the Flood Prediction game. Is your flood AI getting better at guessing where the water goes?
