What is different today?
Think of it like this:
The brain inside is called Gemini. Your app can ask Gemini things while people use it. So today's app can tell jokes, make up quiz questions, or explain things, fresh every time.
Build time! Follow the steps
- Say the 4 golden rules together. (You know them now. Prove it!)
- Grown-up: go to aistudio.google.com and sign in with YOUR Google account (it is an adult tool; you drive).
- Grown-up: find Build in the menu, and the box that says describe your app.
- Kid: read out your wish. Today, add one magic line: what the robot brain should do. Use the example below for the shape.
- Both: send it, watch it build, then the kid tests it. Ask it silly things! See what the brain says back.
- Fix-wishes, one at a time, same as build day 1.
Make an app called Animal Fact Machine for a kid who loves animals. Screen 1: a big button that says "TELL ME A FACT!" with a happy lion face. Screen 2: one amazing TRUE animal fact in big letters, with a "another one!" button. Robot brain rules: give one short true fact at a time, easy words a 7-year-old understands, always kind, never scary. Colours: jungle green and banana yellow.
See the "robot brain rules" line? You told the brain HOW to behave: short, true, kind, not scary. Grown-up engineers get paid to write rules like that. They call it a system instruction. You call it good manners for robots.
Here is the most important thing about ALL robot brains: they GUESS. Mostly they guess right, but sometimes they say something wrong while sounding very sure. So play detective with your grown-up: pick one "fact" your app said and check it in a book or a trusted website. Real geniuses double-check.
