Classify This!

How does AI sort crabs from fish? It draws an invisible line! Crabs on one side. Fish on the other. Today YOU draw the line, on a real 3D beach. Score points like a real AI!

Sorting = drawing a line

Sorting things into groups is called classification. Think of a fence on a beach: crabs on THIS side, fish on THAT side. Put the fence in a smart spot and everything lands on its correct side!

Remember the importance points from Lesson 1? Surprise: those points ARE the fence! Training a neuron just means wiggling the fence until it sorts best. You are about to do that with your finger.

New Word! Classification

Sorting things into groups, like crab or fish, spam or not spam, hurricane or no hurricane. A simple robot brain classifies by drawing a line between the groups.

🎮 The game

How to play
  1. Look at the 3D beach: red crabs 🦀 and blue fish 🐟 are scattered on the sand.
  2. Drag the two yellow posts to move the glowing fence between them.
  3. Put ALL the crabs on one side and ALL the fish on the other, then press Check my fence.
  4. Every animal on its correct side earns points. 5 rounds, and each round the animals squeeze closer together, so the fence needs to be smarter!

💡 Genius tip

One crab stuck on the wrong side? Do not panic. Try tilting the fence, not just sliding it. And if the groups are too mixed for one straight fence, that is EXACTLY why real AI uses many neurons!

Check your understanding

Your fence gets 9 out of 10 animals on the correct side. Your friend's fence gets 6 out of 10. Whose "robot brain" is better trained?
